Police officer Peter Westmore is helping with the evacuation of Seattle when terrorists explode a nuclear bomb. Far enough from the explosion not to be killed, he is still forced to seek shelter with others in a cold-war era bomb shelter. There he faces hunger and thirst while longing to for news about his pregnant wife.
