Overcoming the Root of Rejection

Overcoming the Root of Rejection

Rejection is one of the most common inner wounds. It can occur at any stage in life, from the time of conception through adulthood.

Rejection is also one of the most neglected wounds in a person's soul. The trauma from it brings a disturbance and a heaviness on a human heart. Pressure builds to change who we are, even our personality, as a way to find love and acceptance. But we unfortunately sacrifice the truth of who God created us to be in our search for wholeness.

Eventually, in extreme cases, abnormalities form in our behavior. Distancing ourselves from others through isolation, and from who we were created to be by God, is by the design of our enemy, Satan.

  • Satan, the devil, hates love.
  • He is opposed to God, who is Love. (1 John 1:5)
  • He wants to destroy love, for he cannot work in an atmosphere of love.

In opposition to the Most High God, Satan creates division, strife and disruption in our minds and within our hearts. His demonic strategy is to fracture peace within each person through doubt and fear, and within the Christian, even disintegrate the peace of the Holy Spirit within our soul. Rejection is his weapon of choice.

The perfect love of Jesus casts out fear (1 John 4:18). The Spirit of the Lord seeks to restore our soul, and to strengthen our confidence and resolve in who we were created to be. From His throne in Heaven, Jesus is interceding, working to edify and strengthen us on the inside.

In this moment, your Savior wants to assure you of how valuable you are, to Him and to His Kingdom. He wants you to become stable in His love, and to find a new freedom from the chains of the enemy, the chains he so often uses through the hurt of rejection.
